The Big Ten tournament is o3en a pathway to the NCAA title, and this year's 2eld is by no means short on potential national champs. As of Feb. 9, 2ve Big Ten teams were ranked in the InterMat.com tournament top 10: Penn State (No. 1), Ohio State (No. 3), Iowa (No. 5), Illinois (No. 9) and Michigan (No. 10). Al- though they've had to deal with a number of nagging injuries this season, the Nittany Lions will be strong contenders for the title a3er 2nishing 23h at last year's league tourney. They'll likely have at least four championship favorites on the mat at the Big Ten meet in redshirt sophomore Zain Retherford (149 pounds), redshirt freshmen Ja- son Nolf (157) and Bo Nickal (174) and 23h-year senior Morgan McIntosh (197). As of this writing, all were No. 1 at their respective weight classes in InterMat's individual rankings. It will all play out in front of what is sure to be a packed house at Carver- Hawkeye Arena. If you don't plan to be in Iowa City for the big event, BTN has got you covered. It will carry the 2nals at 4 p.m. March 6. – M.H. SCORECARD
