Recruiter of record: Receivers coach George McDonald. Dave Doeren on Riley: "He was a 1,000-yard guy that obviously has great height and length with good ball skills. You'll see him blocking … he's a very physical guy without the ball, which is one of the things I liked." Scouting report: Tall receiver with good speed for his size … Shows the ability to be both a deep threat or make defenders miss in the open field and pull away from them … Will need to adjust to higher level of competition than what he faced at the prep level and also get stronger. 2016 projection: Riley has the physical tools that the Wolfpack coaches were craving to add to their receiving corps. He's a tall target who can run and get over the top of the defense. The key for him is how quickly he can adjust to the speed at this level. If he can do so quickly, he is a dark horse to get on the field quickly. Joe Sculthorpe OFFENSIVE LINEMAN Hampstead (N.C.) Recruiter of record: Running backs coach and recruiting coordinator Des Kitchings. Dave Doeren on Sculthorpe: "He's a big, physical, strong offensive lineman. He plays with good leverage and played both ways. … I'm excited about his demeanor — he's a real tough kid. Those wrestlers tend to have an edge to them and know how to handle the way people's weight is being distributed and how to use the weight against them. He'll be able to pull and play in space." Scouting report: Good athlete for his size … Tough and physical … Because of his height, projects strictly as an interior line prospect. 2016 projection: Sculthorpe is typical of most true freshmen offensive linemen in that he will be best suited by redshirting his first year. Having said that, of NCSU's offensive line recruits Sculthorpe probably has one of the better chances of playing quickly. Isaiah Stallings SAFETY Fayetteville (N.C.) Recruiter of record: Defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Dave Huxtable and safeties coach/co-special teams coordinator Clayton White. Dave Doeren on Stallings: "He has good cover skills. … You can see him doing a lot of different things on film, whether it's playing in space, playing in the box, covering people or just being rangy in the middle of the field. He has good ball skills, and the one thing that I loved was how much ground he covered and how he would bend when he would get down into the box. … On the field, he's got some nasty to him." Scouting report: Great size and frame for a safety … Has a knack for making hard hits … Needs to improve top- end speed and overall athleticism. 2016 projection: One of the more recruited prospects in NC State's signing class, he has the potential to make a quick impact, especially if he proves to be an upgrade over the inconsistent play the Pack got from the position last year.
