The Irish inked 23 recruits from 11 different states, plus one from Canada, giving it the 12th-best class in the country accord- ing to Rivals. It was the fourth straight quality class for Notre Dame, putting the Irish one step closer to having a champion- ship roster. Notre Dame's 2016 recruiting class lacks some of the elite, top-end talent compared to previous classes, but it is arguably the deepest class the Irish have signed under head coach Brian Kelly. Below is a ranking of Notre Dame's 2016 signees from 1-23: 1. LIAM EICHENBERG, OL Cleveland St. Ignatius Landing elite offensive linemen — especially tackles — was a priority for this class, and picking up Eichenberg gave Notre Dame one of the nation's best. He has an excellent frame and DEEP CLASS Ranking Notre Dame's 2016 signees Cleveland St. Ignatius offensive lineman Liam Eichenberg could be Notre Dame's next dominant left tackle.
