R ivals.com updated its top-250 rank- ings in February for the Class of 2017, and more than 30 Penn State recruit- ing targets were featured on the list. Below are some of the more notable players on the new Rivals250. NO. 4 JOSH KAINDOH A native of Bal- timore who now attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., Kaindoh called Penn State his leader very early in the recruiting process. But as the 8ve-star defensive end has visited more schools and collected a larger number of o9ers, he's backed away from his initial list of favorites. "Right now I wouldn't say I have a leader," said the 6-foot-5, 241-pound prospect recently. "It used to be Penn State, but I'm just trying to take it slow. There are a lot of schools I have my eyes on." NO. 8 LAMONT WADE The highest- rated prospect in Pennsylvania and one of the most sought-a;er recruits in the state's recent history, Wade has a reserved spot on Penn State's recruiting board. A 8ve-star cornerback from Clairton High, he's been a frequent visitor to University Park since early in his high school career. The 5-9, 182-pounder visited for a game last season and also camped at PSU over the summer. He returned in February for the team's recent junior day. Michigan, Pitt and West Virginia are in the hunt, too, but Ohio State appears to be Penn State's top competitor. NO. 56 ROBERT HAINSEY Previously ranked 238th, the o9ensive tackle from IMG Academy made one of the largest jumps in the new Rivals250, rising 182 spots. A;er playing his 8rst two high school seasons at Monroeville (Pa.) Gate- way, Hainsey enrolled at IMG prior to his junior year. He earned a starting spot at le; tackle and became one of the better o9ensive linemen on a team that is loaded with Division I athletes. Penn State was an early favorite for the 6-5, 272-pound lineman, but Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State are going to make it di:cult for the Nittany Lions to secure a verbal commitment. NO. 100 DAVID ADAMS Linebacker is one of the high-priority positions for Penn State in the Class of 2017 a;er the sta9 signed only one LB in February. Adams, who recently earned o9ers from LSU and Florida, is the best linebacker in the state according to Rivals. Penn State already has a commitment from three-star prospect Dylan Rivers, but the coaches are looking to add a few more. Adams, a 6-2, 225-pounder from Pitts- burgh Central Catholic, is atop the wish list alongside fellow four-star prospects Jordan Anthony, Nathan Proctor, Avery Roberts and Drew Singleton. NO. 168 MARK WEBB Like Hainsey, Webb made a gigantic leap, turning up in the middle of the new Rivals250 a;er not appearing in the previous rankings.
