March 3, Penn State ended its season at
12-19 and 6-12 in the Big Ten. The overall
record
was a six-game improvement over
the year before, and the Lady Lions also
bettered
their Big Ten mark by three
games.
Still, it was an up-and-down year, with
more of the latter than the former. The
Lady Lions' longest winning streak was
two games, and when the Big Ten season
began, they only once notched back-to-
back wins, defeating Iowa (82-69) and
Illinois (65-56) during a late-January road
swing.
Eager to return to title contention a=er
two losing seasons, Penn State will be
looking to take another step forward next
year. And with only two players lost to
graduation – reserve center Candice Agee
and one-and-done transfer Brianna Banks
– they appear to have the personnel they
will need to meet a higher set of expec-
tations. Eleven players will return, in-
cluding three who saw little if any action
this past season due to knee injuries:
guards Sierra Moore, Keke Sevillian and
Amari Carter. Moore, who missed the en-
tire year a=er tearing her ACL in preseason
practice, was Penn State's second-leading
scorer in 2014-15, averaging 12.1 points
per game in her debut a=er transferring
from Duke.
