FROM OUR READERS I'm sure there will still be some assistant coach discussion in the offseason, but now isn't the time to focus on that. Great work by Coach B. CH99 • I'm not sure about the blood and stone thing, but he got a triple out of Kam [Chatman] at the right time. maizeragePaul • He evaluated talent just fine; he just didn't get most of the players he identified as priorities. And he has adjusted as a result — which has displeased some star- gazers, but I suspect will give us a chance to see new evidence of his gift for talent evaluation. TobieSmith • Kentucky won four more games than U-M this year with a roster that was bought and paid for. They also didn't lose their best player for half the season. Which coach would you say did the better job working within the rules? DetroitRockCity • So Indiana wins the Big Ten at 15-3 and gets a No. 5 seed. Their second- and third-round opponents are Kentucky and North Carolina. MSU finishes second, gets a No. 2 seed and their second- and third-round games are Dayton and Utah. Then MSU gets the regional in Chicago, which will be home court versus Virginia. Indiana got screwed. MSU made out like a bandit, much better than being a No. 1 seed out West. rich_w • 1. Any Big Ten champion who wins the regular season title by two games should be higher than a No. 5 seed. Probably a No. 2 seed at least, but no worse than a No. 3. 2. The East seems to be loaded with teams who can beat anyone, the Midwest, not so much. MSU can match up with anyone, and would be favored against most teams, so wherever they were placed it would seem they would not be facing many teams that could beat them. But there seems to be quite an imbalance be- tween those two regions, and even within the Midwest bracket itself. 3. Tom Crean deserves whatever he gets. He has always been an annoying guy for me with his constant hyperactive pacing on the sidelines during games as well as his strolls out onto the court during live ball to communicate with his players and lobby officials while they are supposed to be focused on the game. bluex2
