H I G H S & L O W S B Y T I M O W E N PLAYER OF THE GAME In a quarter- back battle with teammate Tommy Stevens, it was Trace McSorley who had the more persuasive stat line in the Blue-White Game. He completed 18 of his first 19 passes for 217 yards and scored three touchdowns, compared to one interception in the first half. He en- gineered another TD drive to open the third quarter and finished his stellar af- ternoon with 23 completions in 27 at- tempts for 281 total yards, four TDs and only that one interception. PLAY OF THE GAME On the first drive of the second half, McSorley led the Blue offense 40 yards downfield on eight plays. Then on the ninth, he found DeAndre Thompkins in between zone coverage on the right side. The perfectly placed pass landed in Thompkins' hands, and he turned up- field for a 35-yard score and the fourth – and final – scoring drive of the day for McSorley. BEST PASS Directly after completing a pass down the seam to Mike Gesicki for 22 yards, McSorley conducted to perfection the hurry-up offense, rush- ing to the line for the snap before firing the next pass to Chris Godwin on a 15- yard slant for the touchdown. Honor- able mention: McSorley's 25-yard pass to Godwin late in the second quarter on a comeback route that put the Blue team 2 yards from the end zone. Stevens' best completion was a 19- yard pass to freshman Danny Dalton in the third quarter. BEST RUN After play- ing for the White team in the first half, Andre Robinson came out fol- lowing halftime in a blue jersey and scored the game's only rush- ing touchdown in the fourth quarter – a 28-yard dash down the right sideline. BEST CATCH Taking a couple of steps right, McSorley lofted a touch pass to the right pylon and found a fading Saeed Blacknall for the 22-yard touch- down with 9:24 left in the second quar- ter. WORST DROP On a play-action pass in the first quarter, Stevens went deep BLUE-WHITE GAME SCORING SUMMARY 1ST 7:33 BLUE Godwin, Chris 15-yard pass from McSorley, Trace (Davis, Tyler kick) 7 plays, 70 yards, TOP 2:53..................................................................................................................... 7-0 0:15 BLUE Schwan, Evan safety................................................................................................................................ 9-0 2ND 9:24 BLUE Blacknall, Saeed 22-yard pass from McSorley, Trace (Davis, Tyler kick) 7 plays, 75 yards, TOP 5:50................................................................................................................... 16-0 0:57 BLUE Pancoast, Tom 2-yard pass from McSorley, Trace (Davis, Tyler kick) 12 plays, 68 yards, TOP 6:41................................................................................................................. 23-0 3RD 6:48 BLUE Thompkins, DeAndre 35-yard pass from McSorley, Trace (Davis, Tyler kick) 9 plays, 75 yards, TOP 5:10.................................................................................................................. 30-0 4TH 7:58 BLUE Robinson, Andre 28-yard run (Davis, Tyler kick) 5 plays, 84 yards, TOP 3:15................................................................................................................... 37-0 BEST PASS Stevens had one of the afternoon's best throws when he connected with Dalton for a 19-yard gain.
