Cougars when Golson was sidelined
with an injury.
By the final month, Golson had the
position to himself — although Rees
also tried to rally the Irish from a 20-6
deficit versus Pitt before Golson was
reinserted — but the Fighting Irish
would have not advanced to the BCS
