P enn State added a third o3ensive lineman to its Class of 2017 when Michael Miranda of Stow, Ohio, an- nounced April 21 that he would sign with the Nittany Lions. A three-star prospect, Miranda earned verbal schol- arship o3ers from 15 schools, a list that includes Boston College, Nebraska, Northwestern, Pitt, Syracuse and Vir- ginia. In April, Miranda was named O3ensive Line MVP at the RCS Columbus camp. BWI recruiting reporter Ryan Snyder re- cently caught up with him to discuss his commitment. What was it about Penn State that allowed you to make this decision now? What were a few things that stood out about PSU when compared to other schools? One thing that was nice is that I got to meet a lot of the commits when I came up for the Blue-White Game. I became comfortable with them. Honestly, I feel comfortable with everyone at Penn State. From the coaches to the people who just work for the team, everyone is really nice and down to earth. It's also about three hours from my house, so it's not that far. It's a good distance for me and my family. I really like the area around Penn State, too. It's such a nice area. The town is great. Penn State has excellent facilities, too. I could go on and on. Penn State just has a little bit of everything for me, but if there was one thing that really stood out, it's just the people who I got to meet. Everyone was great to me and my family. From top to bottom, I feel comfortable with everyone. You got to see a practice in March. When we talked about that visit, you spoke highly of Limegrover and how he works with his guys. How much did that impact your decision? I love the way they approach practice. It's very up-tempo. Everyone is getting reps and getting better. It's not just about the 2rst team. When it comes to speci2cs, I'll be honest, I don't remem- ber everything, but I did enjoy sitting in on the 2lm session with the linemen. Just the way he does things, it reminded me a lot of my current coach. He would call guys out individually to make sure that they understand their mistakes and why it's important that they have to get things right. It wasn't about the group. He was going through everything with each player. You could tell that he's real- ly focused on developing the whole team. … He wants to develop everyone, so I feel like that will really help me out, especially early in my career. The visit for the Blue-White Game was your #rst time inside Beaver Sta- dium for a game. What was that expe- rience like? How did that impact your decision? Oh man, I loved it. It was only a spring game, but to see that many people come out to watch the scrimmage, it de2nitely caught my eye. The atmosphere is in- credible. I got to walk around before the game and see all the tailgates. I thought it was really cool. I also had people come up to introduce themselves. I never met NEWEST LION Miranda, a three-star offensive line- man from Stow, Ohio, com- mitted after visiting Penn State during Blue-White weekend.
