And if he's enjoyed some rewarding
moments over the past four years, so too
has the program as a whole. The Lions
have surprised a few favored opponents,
appeared in a couple of bowl games and
added a Lombardi Award to their trophy
case. They've also continued to post
winning seasons, a seemingly mundane
accomplishment for a program of their
stature but one that few would have pre-
dicted in July 2012.
It's tempting to look at the program's
recent history and focus on the di=cul-
