INSIDE MICHIGAN ATHLETICS Any list of all-time greats involves perspective and criteria. That's why a recent NFL.com version of Michi- gan's Mount Rushmore differed so dramatically from one TheWolverine. com produced in June. The NFL version offers up some of the most luminous names ever to emerge from Ann Arbor and light it up in the pros. Tom Brady, Steve Hutchinson, Dan Dierdorf and Charles Woodson make up a formida- ble cast of characters who continued their high-level success after college. Answering its own question of "why those four," the NFL.com piece stated: "Brady emerged from total afterthought in the 2000 NFL Draft to become one of the greatest quar- terbacks in league history. He's won four Super Bowls — played in six — and is a three-time Super Bowl MVP. An 11-time Pro Bowl selection, Brady can make a serious run at the NFL's all-time career records in a number of passing categories, including yardage and touchdowns. "Woodson played 18 seasons in the NFL before retiring following the 2015 season. The 1997 Heisman Trophy winner was a nine-time Pro Bowl se- lection, winner of the NFL Defensive Contrasting Mount Rushmores Highlight Michigan Elite Michigan football's Mount Rushmore, as selected by the staff of The Wolverine, features Charles Woodson, Anthony Carter, Tom Harmon and Bennie Oosterbaan.
