the Irish line coach took off. When
Hainsey made his decision to con-
tinue his career in South Bend, that
relationship had become a key factor.
"I really like Coach Harry," said
Hainsey, a native of Pittsburgh. "He
knows what he's talking about and
he knows what he wants. Coach
Harry coaches a little bit different.
"His résumé speaks for itself with
the amount of players he puts in the
league and the way the line plays. I
feel I fit in very well."
With his recruitment now over
with, Hainsey can focus on his most
important goal.
"Go win this national champion-
ship," Hainsey replied emphatically
when asked what was next for him.
Being at IMG Academy — a board-
ing school designed to prepare stu-
dent-athletes for success on and off
the field — has dramatically im-
proved Hainsey's game.
In 2015, Hainsey faced off against
2017 five-star end Josh Kaindoh, 2016
five-star linebacker Rahshaun Smith
and 2016 four-star defensive tackle
Shavar Manuel on a daily basis. Dur-
ing his senior season, he will again
have to go against Kaindoh, as well
as five-star linebacker Dylan Moses
and Rivals100 linebacker Jordan An-
thony.
"Between the coaching and the
competition every day in practice,
it's like being at The Opening ev-
ery day," Hainsey explained. "The
competition is next level, and it has
helped me a lot." ✦
