The last six months has been quite
a ride for Hamden (Conn.) Cheshire
Academy athlete C.J. Holmes. When
the spring recruiting period began,
Holmes was a three-star recruit with a
relatively unimpressive offer list.
Over the next several months, when
college coaches started to evaluate
his junior film and Holmes began
standing out at camps, he saw his
recruiting stock begin to rise. When
Holmes headed to South Bend in June
for Notre Dame's Irish Invasion, he
was a four-star recruit and Rivals' No.
230 overall player in the country.
His offer list exploded as well, with
Holmes earning scholarship tenders
from, among others, Notre Dame,
Alabama, Michigan, Tennessee,
UCLA, Penn State, Mississippi State
and Pittsburgh.
