BY MATT JONES W h i l e c o a c h i n g P o p Wa r n e r football the past two years, Jordan Pouncey said he's encountered some players who don't want to be on the field. That lack of motivation, he said, has caused him incredible frustration. "It's like trying to solve the world's biggest jigsaw puzzle," Pouncey said. F o r t u n a t e l y f o r t h e Wi n t e r Park (Fla.) High School coaches who work with Pouncey, the 6-3, 182-pound senior seems to be the exact opposite. The three-star wide receiver — who committed to Notre Dame at the Irish Invasion in June — is extremely coachable, Winter Park offensive coordinator Kit Hill said. "He comes to the field with a great attitude, always striving to learn something more and make him that much better," Hill said. "He doesn't feel like his skill set is where it needs to be, and he comes out there on a day-to-day basis trying to improve that skill set to make him the best possible receiver he can be." "It's taken so much stress off of me because now I can focus on my high school team and focus on winning a state championship," Pouncey said. Pouncey plays both ways at Winter Park. Some schools were pursuing him as a defensive back, but he projects as a wide receiver at Notre Dame.
