aspect of Notre Dame's program made
them different from others."
Holmes shined on the field during
the Irish Invasion, and Notre Dame
made a strong impression on him.
"The people are the thing that
stood out the most," Holmes said
following his visit. "Just on campus
there's so many people that think
highly of the school and want to tell
you about it. You don't really get that
type of environment or feeling at other
colleges."
Notre Dame recruited Holmes to
play offense, although he is not locked
into one specific position. The Irish
coaching staff has compared him to
former standout C.J. Prosise (2012-
15), who began his career at safety,
caught 29 passes for 516 yards as a slot
receiver as a junior, and finished his
career with 1,032 rushing yards and 11
touchdowns as a senior.
Holmes sees his game as being
similar to Prosise, although he is a
more natural running back (Prosise
never played the position prior to his
final season at Notre Dame).
"They have … compared me to C.J.
Prosise, which is a hell of a comparison
because of the fact that he's fulfilling
his dreams in the NFL right now,"
Holmes noted. "The coaches told
me that they would like me on the
offensive side of the ball. They see me
as an athlete.
"They haven't really pegged me to
one position because I'm so versatile
and can do so many things, which I
like." ✦
