Markese Stepp did not grow up
loving Notre Dame. In fact, the
Indianapolis Cathedral running back
said he once viewed the Irish with
disgust.
"When I was younger, I used to hate
Notre Dame with a passion," Stepp
said.
Now, one of the best prospects in
Indiana is one of the Fighting Irish's
top salesmen.
Since becoming the second verbal
commitment in Notre Dame's 2018
recruiting class — the Irish have
since increased the haul to four
commitments — Stepp has been one
of the most vocal proponents of Notre
Dame in his recruiting cycle.
The 6-0, 205-pound back said he's
pushing a number of uncommitted
recruits in both the 2017 and 2018
classes to look at the Irish.
Those players include Jaelen Gill
(four-star 2018 running back), Aeneas
Hawkins (three-star 2018 defensive

Stepp, a four-star recruit according to Rivals, was one of four players from the class of 2018 committed
to Notre Dame as of July 18.
