Dear Cavalier Fans, Summer is winding down and students are making their way back to Grounds. The academic year and the fall sports seasons will soon be underway and our venues will be filling up with orange and blue clad fans. This season will mark our fifth season in the current 10-year goal period, which began in 2012-13. Since that time, our student-athletes and coaches have won 20 ACC champi- onships and six NCAA team championships towards our goal of 70 ACC championships and 12 NCAA champi- onships. North Carolina has the largest at over $213 million with Duke second at over $119 million • Scholarship expenses are among the highest with 25 sports and a cost of over $60,000 for an out-of-state full scholarship • All schools have facility projects either underway or in the planning stages • Virginia has the 10th largest student population and the sixth largest alumni population While comparisons to other schools provide some measure of our overall work, we are laser-focused on addressing the needs of our program and the fun- draising goals we established for our All In For Excellence initiative. These goals are designed to support our program during our current 10-year goal period. The VAF 2016 Annual Fund continues to track slightly ahead of last year but we have a lot of work to do over the next five months. Over the coming weeks, we
