PSU Penn State leads the all-time series, 50-42-4. MOST RECENT MEETING A 22- yard completion from Rashard Casey to Kenny Watson on PSU's first drive was called back due to an offensive pass interference penalty. It set the tone for the rest of the game, as the Lions failed to score even once on Sept. 16, 2000, in Three Rivers Stadium. Pitt won, 12-0, snapping a seven- game losing streak to PSU. GOOD NEWS Pitt's offensive linemen have a combined 105 career starts under their belt, led by senior Adam Bis- nowaty with 31. Dorian Johnson, a former Penn State recruit, trails closely behind with 30. BAD NEWS After Pitt joined the ACC in 2013 it has struggled to win consistently at home. Of the Panthers' 16 regu- lar-season losses, 10 of them have come within the confines of Heinz Field. DID YOU KNOW? Pitt has played every team that is currently in the Big Ten Confer- ence at least once, but it has a winning record against only two of them in its history. (Nebraska, 15-6-3; and Rutgers, 22-8.) In total Pitt is 103-119-8 against B1G opponents. T I M β€ˆ O W E N | O W e N . t I m . b W I @ g m a I L . C O m S e p t e m b e r 7 , 2 0 1 6 b L U e W H I t e O N L I N e . Renewing the "tradition," is the vernacular that many have used in lieu. But with personal connections – family, friends, high school teammates and former re- cruits –on both sides of the ball, there's no denying Saturday's intrastate matchup has folks buzzing. "There are going to be a lot of eyes on the city of Pittsburgh and the state of Pennsylvania," said Pat Narduzzi, who is in his second season with the Panthers. "That is what makes it different." Rivalry, maybe. Undoubt- edly it's a spectacle, and while both teams are doing what they can, at least publicly, not to 1 HOME COOKING Familiarity abounds as PSU and Pitt resume series A redshirt freshman, Givens started his first game at defensive tackle.
