South Brunswick * As of Sept. 18 VERBAL COMMITMENTS* was also looking into making a decision [in December], so that could get pushed back to January if I'm not able to visit the schools by then." Two weeks later, Penn State will host Beaver Falls, Pa., native Donovan Jeter for the game against Ohio State. A four- star prospect, Jeter is focused on five schools: Penn State, Alabama, Notre Dame, Pitt and Tennessee. Throughout the spring and summer, it appeared as though Pitt was the clear favorite, but sources have indicated that Penn State has improved its chances in recent months. Jeter took his official visit to Notre Dame on the weekend of Sept. 16- 18 and is expected to travel to Tennessee on the first weekend in October. He will then check out Penn State on Oct. 15 and 16 and is expected to make his decision on Oct. 31. That same weekend, the Nittany Lions will also host two players who have al- ready joined their Class of 2017: defensive end Yetur Matos of Fredericksburg, Va., and defensive back Derrek Pitts of Charleston, W.Va. Matos's commitment appears to be 6rm, but Pitts has already made it clear that he plans to take multi- ple o7cial visits before signing day in February. The Nittany Lions will also host their top prospect in the Class of 2017 when defensive back Lamont Wade visits Nov. 5 for the game against Iowa. A 6ve-star player from Clairton, Pa., Wade has been busy this past month, taking uno7cial visits to Tennessee, West Virginia and Pitt. He then took an uno7cial visit to Penn State for the game against Temple on Sept. 17. Because he intends to enroll early at the school of his choice, Wade is planning to take all five of his official visits during the season. He has already set a decision date: Dec. 16. In addition to Penn State, Wade is expected to take official visits to Tennessee (Sept. 24-25) and UCLA (Nov. 19-20). Official visits to Alabama and Pitt are also likely before he makes a de- cision. ■
