BONDING TIME
The UVA men's basketball team's 10-day tour of Spain from Aug. 9-19, proved to be productive both
on and off the court. The Cavaliers posted a 5-0 record during the trip, beating the Madrid Generals
twice, Arcos Albacete once and the Sant JuliĆ All-Stars twice. In between games, the Hoos visited
Madrid, Toledo, Albacete, Valencia and Barcelona, taking in historic sites, sampling new cuisines and
logging some beach time while spending nearly every waking hour together.
"I'm no psychologist or psychiatrist, but I saw guys really coming together and being friends, and that
can't help but draw us closer together," UVA assistant coach Brad Soderberg told VirginiaSports.com.
"That's the one takeaway from this trip that I think is real obvious: that the guys have had lots of time
to get to know each other and spend time together.
"And when you have six guys that have never put on a UVA uniform before, I think that's valuable." .
