FANTASTIC FINISH
Saquon Barkley's overtime TD is the difference in a rousing victory
Minnesota kept Saquon Barkley under wraps for
60 minutes.
It wasn't enough.
On Penn State's first and only offensive play of
overtime, the standout sophomore running back
found a seam, juked free of a would-be tackler and
romped into the end zone to give the Nittany Lions
a miraculous 29-26 comeback victory over Min-
nesota on Saturday in Beaver Stadium.
Barkley had been stymied throughout the game
by yet another defense that was set up to stop him,
o?en finding a Gopher or two in the backfield wait-
ing to pounce the moment he touched the ball. But
all that was forgotten in the game's euphoric a?er-
math. Players bobbed up and down in the end
zone, holding the Governor's Victory Bell alo?
a?er rallying back from a 10-point hal?ime deficit
and then tying the score on a late field-goal drive
with less than a minute remaining and no time-
outs.
