In the absence of TV broadcast money and high-priced ticket sales revenue, this game would have been cancelled. It proved nothing about either team's football prowess. Another example of the takeover of college football by business interests. As a recent media article said, "Col- lege football has as much to do with higher education as Bull Fighting has to do with agriculture!" Sad to watch this trend unfold. Tim O'Reilly '61 Via the Internet BAD CALL … BEFORE THE GAME I would like to know who made the decision to play the game against NC State in Raleigh, N.C., with Hurricane Matthew causing a torrential rainstorm. The game was extremely painful to watch, and we are fortunate there were no serious injuries. It was a bad decision, and I am very disappointed that Mr. Swarbrick and/or Coach Kelly would allow the game to be played. Gary Ross Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. Mr. Ross, as the visiting team, that is not Notre Dame's call, unless it wishes to forfeit the game. According to Kelly, the league office (ACC) has the main power to give it the green light or not.
