enn State's 2018 recruiting class re-
ceived a signi0cant boost in August
when four-star wide receiver Justin
Shorter announced his plans to sign with
the Nittany Lions.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound Shorter is the
No. 95 prospect nationally and the No. 5
player in New Jersey according to
Rivals.com. In South Brunswick High's
0rst three games this season, he had six
catches for 90 yards and two touchdowns
and had gained 38 yards on six carries.
Blue White Illustrated recruiting re-
porter Ryan Snyder recently caught up
with the New Jersey native to learn more
about his commitment and his hopes for
his college career.
BWI Let's start with your 0rst visit to
Penn State. You and your father came up
at the end of July to see the school for the
0rst time. What were a few of the high-
lights from that trip?
SHORTER Well, 0rst o1, with it being a
Saturday, not all of the coaches were on
campus that weekend. Coach [James]
Franklin was actually with his family in
Florida. A few other coaches had family
