OCTOBER SURPRISE
Special teams come up big in electrifying win over Buckeyes
Marcus Allen leaped off the turf and into Penn
State history on Saturday night. Moments later,
fellow defensive back Grant Haley joined him in
the Nittany Lion pantheon.
Allen launched himself into the path of a 45-
yard field goal attempt, sending the ball careening
onto the turf, and Haley scooped it up on the run,
dashing 60 yards into the end zone for what
would turn out to be the decisive touchdown in a
gutsy 24-21 comeback victory over second-
ranked Ohio State.
A=er the defense closed out the Buckeyes with
back-to-back sacks of J.T. Barrett, the crowd at
Beaver Stadium rushed the field in celebration of
