NOVEMBER 2016 ■ 91 BASKETBALL PREVIEW 2016-17 like boxing out, cutting turnovers, just cut- ting the little stuff out, we're definitely going to be successful." On track to graduate next May with a degree in communications, Spencer does have one personal goal: to play either in the WNBA or overseas or, failing that, become a graduate assistant coach. She and teammate Ashley Williams have both applied to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's "So You Want to Be a Coach?" program, which assists female collegiate basketball players who are interested in pursuing a career in coaching women's basketball by providing them with professional develop- ment and career advancement through edu- cation, skills enhancement, networking and exposure opportunities. A limited number of applicants are chosen for the program each year at the WBCA convention in March. "Both Miah and Ashley are pretty much coaches on the floor for us right now," Moore pointed out. "I definitely think they would do a great job and make our profession even better." Before taking that next step, NC State's confessed basketball junkie — "If I'm not playing, and there's a game on TV, I'm watching it, even if it's high school," she said — has some unfinished business: a post- season trip that's a year overdue. That, and there is one other last personal wish for herself. "I've asked [NC State associate athletic director] Dereck Whittenburg to ask LeBron to come to my senior night," she said. "I need to meet him before I leave here." ■ • Lush, verdant landscaping • Nationally accredited, locally owned, not-for-profit • Dedicated to independence, security and peace of mind y p LIFESTYLES CREATED ONE PERSON AT A TIME. • A 42-acre urban oasis LIFESTYLES CREATED ONE PERSON AT A TIME.
