He also was voted the Linebacker of the Year by the Touchdown Club of Richmond. As a result of last year's strong season, Greer was named a led Virginia with 103 tackles. In fact, he has led Virginia in tackles in two of his three seasons on the field (2009 was the other). Overall, he has a career total of 254 tackles. Greer received second-team All-ACC honors in 2011, mak- team captain for 2012, and is on the watch list for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy (given to the nation's top defensive player) and the Lott IMPACT Trophy (which is presented to a defen- sive college player, while giving equal weight to personal character and athletic performance). He led the team in tackles (150) and earned first-team all-state and first-team all-district honors. In retrospect, Greer delivered a premonition of things to above and beyond what's expected. The best advice ever given to me and by whom: My dad My advice to student-athletes is: Be uncommon. Go (Jim Greer) raised me to be uncommon, and said to be great you must push past your limits. The best thing about UVa is: Its combination of athletics and academics. Not too many schools around the country that can say this. Why I chose UVa: The people within the program are good people. They have your best interests in mind and you want to be a part of it. What I like the most about football: The opportunity to when we went to Florida State and beat them. We were the underdog. It was a great feeling to walk out of there with a win. That game put us in the running for the ACC championship. My dream vacation would be: Hawaii.
