falling to Notre Dame 12-10 in the quarterfinals. "It's unfortunate that we didn't make it to the Final Four," Stanwick said. "I always felt like that was satisfying — just getting there. We came up a little short, but it was a great group of guys, and overall my four years were the best four years I could have ever asked for. "I met so many great people and have a lot of great relationships. It was pretty special for me, and I don't think I could have written it any better for myself and my teammates. It was a great four years and I'll never forget them. I owe a lot to Coach Starsia, Coach [Marc] Van Arsdale and Coach [John] Walker." Jarmere Jenkins, Tennis — The third-year from College Park, Ga., earned All-America honors in both singles and doubles play while he accumulated a 30-6 record by himself and a 20-10 showing with a partner despite play- ing mostly at both No. 1 spots. The ACC's Player of the Year finished the campaign ranked sixth nationally in singles. 2. Mitchell Frank, Tennis — The National Freshman of the Year finished the season ranked No. 2 nationally in singles and earned All-America laurels. He went 38-2 on the year while playing mostly at No. 3 singles, and he was unbeaten against ACC foes. The Annandale, Va., native won both major singles titles in the fall — the ITA All- American Championships and the ITA National Indoor Championship — making him just the fourth player to ever do so in the same season. 3. Marcus Robinson, Track and Field — The fourth-year from Richmond earned All-America laurels for both indoor and outdoor track in the triple jump. He finished fifth at the NCAA Indoor Championships after he set con- ference and school records en route to an ACC gold medal and USTFCCCA Southeast Region Athlete of the Year honors. In the spring, he repeated his first-place effort at the ACC Championships and placed sixth in the country. 4. Colin Briggs, Lacrosse — The redshirt fourth-year was named a first-team All-American by USILA and was one of 25 national nominees for the Tewaaraton Award. He was named All-ACC for the second straight year after he tal- lied 22 goals and 14 assists — totals that both ranked third on the team. 5. Alex Domijan, Tennis — The second-year reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA Singles Championship and — Ryan Tice was rewarded with an All-America distinction from the ITA. He finished the year 27-5 in singles and ranked No. 18 in the nation. He played mostly at No. 2 singles and was 9-0 against conference opponents. CAVALIER CORNER ◆ AUGUST 2012 ◆ 37
