Ellen Williamson, Swimming and Diving — The ACC Freshman of the Year earned all-conference distinction the fall for cross country — she finished 21st at the ACC Championships, 35th at the NCAA Southeast Regional and 167th at the NCAA Championships — but was even better in outdoor track. In the spring, she placed 10th in the 1,500 meters and 15th in the 5,000 at the ACC Championships, then won honorable mention All-America honors with a 21st-place finish at the NCAA Championships in the 5,000. 3. Alison Haulsee, Swimming and Diving — The Glen Allen, Va., native earned All-ACC distinction in the 500 in the 200 individual medley (second), the 100 butterfly (third) and the 200 backstroke (second), while she stood as the conference's top finisher at the NCAA Championships in the 200 backstroke (sixth) and 200 IM (14th), earning All-America laurels in the back and honorable mention in the IM. She also anchored the 800 freestyle relay squad that finished ninth in the country for a third honorable mention All-America honor. 2. Kathleen Stevens, Cross Country/Track and Field — The redshirt first-year had a respectable performance in freestyle and 1,650 freestyle thanks to third-place finishes in both races. She went on to compete at the NCAA Cham- pionships in the 500 freestyle and 200 butterfly, earning honorable mention All-America accolades in the 200 with a 16th-place finish. 4. Megan Fox, Swimming and Diving — The Arizona State transfer won the 400 individual medley and 200 but- terfly at the ACC Championships and went on to qualify for the NCAA Championships in the 200 butterfly. 5. Briana Mao, Golf — The first-year from Folsom, Calif., played in eight events for the Cavs and finished second on the team with a stroke average of 74.69, which was third among ACC rookies.
