is very strong. He can also run very well." Virginia was able to get former Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith High quarterback Phillip Sims to trans- fer back home from Alabama. Sims, Rivals.com's No. 2 pro-style QB in the class of 2010, will one day be joined by Olney (Md.) Good Counsel signal- caller Brendan Marshall and Virginia Beach (Va.) Ocean Lakes quarterback Corwin Cutler. UVa has been able to land five quarterbacks be- tween the Sims transfer and signees or commits from the class of 2012 and 2013. The 6-5, 210-pound Marshall is ranked as the No. 17 prospect in Maryland, while the 6-3, 182-pound Cutler is listed No. 22 in Virginia. Oscar Smith High will help provide the various quarterbacks some speed on the outside. Levrone and Johnson project to play the outside wide receiver positions, while Jones could excel in the slot. The 6-2, 197-pound Levrone could end up being the best of the bunch. He is ranked as the No. 56 wide receiver in the country and the No. 10 player in Maryland by Rivals.com. "He is going to be huge [physi- "He is a huge kid with a cannon for an arm, kid than Cutler with a stronger arm, but not as polished," Farrell said. "Cutler has really come a long way in terms of polish. Last year, when I saw him in a game, he was very raw. He was giving off the snap count pretty obviously. He was afraid to zip the ball when he had to. "Now, seeing him this spring and summer, he has a lot more confidence about him. He is willing to try and fit that ball in. He can rear back and get it done. He is starting to get bigger and stronger. He has a lot of upside because his accuracy is good." Marshall came on to the scene at Good Counsel last year. "He is a huge kid with a cannon for an arm, but is really raw," Farrell said. "He still has to learn how to read the field. He has been in that offense and they don't want him to make a mistake, and to get the ball to the playmakers in the flat, than to win the football game [strictly on his passing]. "Corwin is more ready to play right now, but Brendan has a higher ceiling. Marshall could be an NFL quarterback, without a doubt, if he continues to develop." but is really raw." "He'll be bigger than Keeon Johnson when it's all said and done. I think Levrone's ceil- ing is the highest. He could be a star." The 6-3, 200-pound Johnson picked Virginia June 15 over offers from North Carolina, Notre Dame, NC State, Wake Forest, Duke, East Caro- lina, Marshall and Minnesota. He is ranked No. 71 nationally at wide receiver and No. 20 in North Carolina. "Keeon was coveted and had some major offers," Farrell said. "He is a raw kid, who needs to learn the nuances of being a wide receiver. Overall, he is a terrific athlete." Jones is the younger brother of UVa fourth-year running back Perry Jones. The 6-0, 178-pound Zack Jones was clocked running 4.5 seconds in the 40- yard dash, which aided him in being ranked No. 26 in Virginia. "Zack will be the slot guy because he's 6-foot, but skinny," Farrell said. "I don't think he'll grow much further than that. He'll be a very serviceable slot receiver, who can move the chains." The Cavaliers also landed three offensive linemen, CAVALIER CORNER ◆ AUGUST 2012 ◆ 48
