Class Of 2014 Indianapolis Wide Receiver Makes Early Choice For Irish BY JASON SAPP Notre Dame on June 22 for its one-day camp as a player with something to prove. J unior wideout Justin Brent of Speedway High School in Indianapolis arrived at COMMITMENT PROFILE JUSTIN BRENT He made his point, showing the Irish coaches that he was worthy of pursuing. The in-state program extended an offer on July 6, and even though it was Brent's first it was all he needed to make his col- lege decision well in advance of the Feb. 5, 2014 National Signing Day for his class. "I felt like my mom [Sharon Brent] being able to come to the games and being close to home helped in the decision," the 6-3, 190-pound player said of his choice. "Notre Dame showed me all the right things, and I know it's the right place. The 100-percent graduation rate is incredible. It wasn't a hard decision for me." The day after Brent camped in South Bend he went to Columbus to audition for the Ohio State coaching staff. Instead of making the process more difficult for him, the camp helped him become even more confident about the feelings he started to get during his time on Notre Dame's cam- pus. "Ohio State wanted me, but at the end of the day I felt way more comfortable with Notre Dame," he shared. "It's a place you can't go wrong with.
