PROFESSIONAL GRADE Penn State's 34-man NFL alumni chapter excels during 2016 season enn State just wrapped up its most recent recruiting effort, signing 21 players in the Class of 2017. Many of those players have long-term goals that include a future in football beyond their upcoming college careers. Those who have the NFL in the back of their minds will be aiming to follow the same path as the 32 former Nittany Lion foot- ball players who were on league rosters this past season. Two additional Nittany Lion alumni played sports other than football at PSU, bringing the school's total contingent to 34 players, spread across 23 pro rosters. Twelve were on teams that participated in the playoffs, and two – Cameron Wake and Sean Lee – took part in the Pro Bowl. Chris Hogan, a former lacrosse player, was the only Penn Stater in Super Bowl LI after a record-setting performance for the New England Patriots in the AFC Champi- onship Game. Here's a look at Penn State's NFL alumni and how they've fared since leav- ing University Park: ADRIAN AMOS FS // Chicago Bears // second season After becoming the first Bears rookie to lead the team in tackles since Brian Urlacher in 2000, Amos followed up his first season in the NFL with 65 tackles and four passes defended. He appeared in 15 games, made 14 starts and missed just over a game due to injury.
