82 ■ THE WOLFPACKER ■ BASKETBALL RECRUITING Hunter Tyson, junior small forward, Monroe Piedmont Tyson is a little under the radar playing at Piedmont High, where his father is the principal. The skilled 6-6, 180-pounder didn't play for one of the shoe-sponsored traveling teams last spring and summer, but was seen enough with PSB Elite 16s to get ranked No. 144 overall in the class of 2018 by Rivals.com. Tyson's frame is similar to past NC State star shooter Scott Wood, and he also has a textbook jump shot. He unofficially visited the Wolfpack, but hadn't been offered yet. Wake Forest, Clemson, Tennessee, David- son, DePaul, East Carolina, Elon, Charlotte and Appalachian State have offered. Aaron Wiggins, junior shooting guard, High Point Wesleyan Wiggins played with the aforementioned Dotson on the Team Charlotte traveling team and with Hoard at Wesleyan. He en- tered fall workouts with three low-major offers, but impressed college coaches enough to pick up new scholarships from Arizona, California, Maryland, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. Rivals.com moved him into the rankings at No. 105, and he'll be closely watched this spring and summer. Wiggins is a wiry and athletic at 6-6 and 180 pounds, and started his prep career at Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley before mak- ing the move to Wesleyan this past year. ■ For regular reports on NC State basketball recruiting plus videos of Wolfpack commitments and targets visit TheWolfpacker.com.
