learned that the sta6 was interested, he and his family made the cross-country trip to visit April 7-8. "Today was a really special day for me," Lamb said following his visit. "I got the o6er to the school that both my parents graduated from. It's really been an amaz- ing experience. I've grown up being taught to cheer for Penn State, so I've been a fan for a while. "But then, when I visited, I really liked all the great people I got to speak with, es- pecially Coach Franklin, who has an amazing personality and a great approach to coaching his players." Lamb said that he also learned a lot about Penn State's defense, as well as its facilities and current players. "Me and Coach Pry got to talk about how he sees me playing the Sam [line- backer] position and how I would 5t in there," he said. "As far as the facilities and campus, it was super welcoming, and I got to [meet] a couple players walking around. They were all nice to me." So far, Lamb has been able to visit Cali- fornia, Oregon, Stanford, UCLA, USC and Washington. He has no plans to rush into a decision but has made it clear that the distance from home won't be a major fac- tor when he's ready to make a commit- ment. Three-star defensive end Tobe Umerah of Macon, Ga., is another prospect to keep an eye on, as he took an uno7cial visit to Penn State on March 19. While he hasn't o7cially announced his top schools yet, Umerah has publicly stated that Alabama, Duke, Florida State, Geor- gia Tech and Wisconsin were a few of the schools that stood out to him following visits to all 5ve campuses. Now, the Nit- tany Lions are 5rmly in the mix. "Penn State is really standing out a8er this visit," Umerah said. "I'm really con- sidering them, especially now that I've been able to see what they're all about. Another thing I learned is that they're a really prestigious school. I was able to talk to one of their engineering professors. He showed me a lot about that major. Aca- demics are real important to me." As of early April, Penn State was still waiting to hear back from a few dozen prospects as to whether they'll be able to attend the Blue-White Game on April 22. Among the players who have con5rmed to Blue White Illustrated that they plan to visit that weekend are linebacker Brian Asamoah of Columbus, Ohio; wide re- ceiver Solomon Enis of Phoenix; defen- sive lineman Dorian Hardy of Paramus, N.J.; and o6ensive linemen Nana Asiedu of Sta6ord, Va.; Antwan Reed of Muskegon, Mich.; and Blake Zubovic of Belle Vernon, Pa. ■
