MAY 2017 ■ 71 among the top sprinters in the country, ranking No. 27 in the 100-meter dash (11.50 seconds) and No. 56 in the 100 hurdles (13.67) as of early April. Senior Paisley Simmons could also factor in the sprints, if she's 100 percent healthy. "Cunningham just missed making it to nationals in indoors, but she can run the 100, 200, hurdles, and she runs on the re- lay," Geiger said. "Gabby is one of those athletes where I wish we had four, five, six of those. Gabby is just terrific." Redshirt sophomore Rachel Bartolomeo cracked the national top 100 in the 3,000-me- ter steeplechase, ranking No. 93 (10:54.07) as of April 7. Redshirt junior Bethany Neeley could also be a factor in the steeplechase. Two triple jumpers and a pair of women in the throws highlight the field events for NC State this spring. Junior Javonne Antoine and senior Amara Bell both ranked in the top 55 in the country for the triple jump through April 7. Antoine was No. 31 with a season-best leap of 41 feet, 4.25 inches, while Bell was No. 52 with a jump of 40-6.25. "Javonne didn't score indoors [finished seventh], but I expect her to score outdoors in the triple jump," Geiger said. "Amara Bell is really knocking on the door — she is making incredible improvement. This is her senior year, so I expect some positive things from her." Redshirt sophomore Lauren Evans was 71st in the hammer throw (185-5) and No. 79 in the shot put (47-11) as of April 7. Fifth- year senior Alyssa Dunn tossed 48-5.5 in the shot put at the Raleigh Relays, which ranked No. 65 overall in the country. Junior Shar- mani Hall should also factor into the throws. "They are all potentially scorers at the con- ference level and regional qualifiers," Geiger said. "It's a nice group of throwers." ■ GREGORY D. MILLER, CPA SANDRA A. MILLER, CPA REBECCA A.
