On April 21, the day before the Blue-Gold Game, head coach Brian Kelly un-
veiled The Shirt for 2017 in front of Notre Dame's Hammes Bookstore. The front
features football players wearing the numbers 2, 0, 1, 7 in a display of unity.
The back has an excerpt of the song "Here Come The Irish," written by 1980
Notre Dame All-American center and renowned musician John Scully. The Navy
blue is the first time The Shirt has been that color since 2012 — when Notre
Dame finished 12-0 during the regular season.
