We have no reason to doubt those glowing appraisals. A 6-foot-4, 230- pound redshirt sophomore, Johnson made a quiet debut last year, catching only two passes for 70 yards. But op- portunity has knocked this year, and Johnson has apparently answered. "Juwan Johnson has been a guy who has really come on," coach James Franklin said following spring practice. Added receivers coach Josh Gattis, "He's a guy who is going to make a lot of plays for us this upcoming season and help us win a lot of games." John- son was a four-star recruit coming out of Glassboro (N.J.) High in 2015, but by his own admission he suffered from bouts of inconsistency during his high school career. If those problems are be- hind him – and he certainly looked sharp in the Blue-White Game this past April, catching seven passes for 81 yards and a last-second touchdown – the sky's the limit.
