50 THE WOLVERINE AUGUST 2017   FOOTBALL RECRUITING Quarterback Joe Milton, 6-5, 210, Orlando, Fla. (Olympia) After missing on Dorian Thompson-Robinson, Milton became target No. 1 at quarterback and committed May 7. Running Back Asa Martin, 6-0, 193, Decatur, Ala. (Austin) Martin is quite similar to Michigan commit Christian Turner in terms of skill set and build. He doesn't seem to be a huge priority for the staff, but is still being recruited. Christian Turner, 5-10, 180, Buford, Ga. (Buford) Turner committed to the Wolverines April 10 and seems very solid. Wide Receiver Kamryn Babb, 6-1, 175, St. Louis (Christian Brothers College High) Babb is one of Michigan's top targets at wide receiver, but he might be leaning toward Ohio State. Jahan Dotson, 6-0, 165, Nazareth, Pa. (Nazareth Area) Dotson played his high school ball in New Jersey last year, but is heading back to his home state of Pennsylvania for his senior campaign. He has Michigan in his top three, but Penn State is likely leading the way. Michael Ezeike, 6-5, 210, Ontario, Calif. (Colony)* The most recently offered wide receiver in the bunch, Ezeike has great size and is intrigued by Michigan. Jalen Hall, 6-3, 182, Los Angeles (Augustus Hawkins) A five-star talent, Hall is wanted by everyone and will likely be tough to pry away from the West Coast. Kearis Jackson, 6-0, 191, Fort Valley, Ga. (Peach County) Jackson was once listed as an athlete, but has decided he'd like to play offense in college. The playmaker has Michigan in his top group, but will likely stay in SEC country. Anthony Schwartz, 6-0, 175, Plantation, Fla. (American Heritage) The track star included Michigan in his top group in March, but seems to be interested in several of his other schools more than he is U-M. Amon-Ra St. Brown, 6-1, 187, Santa Ana, Calif. (Mater Dei) Another five-star, St. Brown has a brother at Notre Dame and another at Stanford,, and USC is also heavily involved. Michigan is in there, but likely behind at least those three programs. Tight End Malcolm Epps, 6-6, 225, Spring, Texas (Dekaney) The former Alabama commit is not one of Michigan's top targets at the position, but does have the Wolverines in his top group. Luke Ford, 6-7, 247, Carterville, Ill. (Carterville)* The former Arkansas commit picked up his Michigan offer in June and is very interested in the Wolverines. A couple of July visits to Ann Arbor could really shape his recruitment. Mustapha Muhammad, 6-5, 225, Missouri City, Texas (Ridge Point) Muhammad has been a Michigan lean for a while and will likely end up in the class if he doesn't have a drastic change of heart by National Signing Day. Jeremy Ruckert, 6-6, 225, Lindenhurst, N.Y. (Lindenhurst Senior) Ruckert is one of Michigan's top tight end targets, but a July 17 decision will likely be in favor of Ohio State. Offensive Line William Barnes, 6-4, 289, Apopka, Fla. (Apopka) Barnes is high on Michigan and hears about the Wolverines from friend and fellow Floridian Joe Milton. Jerome Carvin, 6-4, 305, Cordova, Tenn. (Cordova)* Carvin picked up his Michigan offer in mid-May, and has been receiving a lot of attention from the U-M staff in the form of graphics and chats with coaches. Curtis Dunlap, 6-5, 362, Bradenton, Fla. (IMG Academy) U-M has had success in IMG Academy and could again with Dunlap should the staff choose to turn up the heat on him. Emil Ekiyor, 6-4, 315, Indianapolis (Cathedral) Ekiyor is a solid commit after reconnecting with offensive line coach Tim Drevno and the rest of the U-M staff. Daniel Faalele, 6-9, 390, Bradenton, Fla. (IMG Academy) Faalele is the biggest prospect in the 2018 class, but is still learning the game of football. Michigan was in early and continues to stay interested. Jalen Goss, 6-7, 263, Valdosta, Ga. (Lowndes)* Goss pledged to Florida in April, but re-opened his recruitment in June. He also picked up his Michigan offer in June and is obviously coveted. Ryan Hayes, 6-7, 250, Traverse City, Mich. (West) Hayes committed to Michigan very discretely in late May and is not going to waver. Jalen Mayfield, 6-5, 250, Grand Rapids, Mich. (Catholic Central) Just four days before Hayes, Mayfield committed to U-M as well and also won't be looking around at any other programs. James Ohonba, 6-5, 320, Stockbridge, Ga. (Woodland) Ohonba spend some time in Ann Arbor earlier in the spring, and has Michigan in his top four along with USC, Alabama and LSU. Nick Petit-Frere, 6-5, 265, Tampa, Fla. (Berkeley Prep) Petit-Frere is one of Michigan's top targets along the offensive line. The long, lean blocker has been compared to Dallas Cowboys star Tyron Smith. Defensive End Nikolas Bonitto, 6-4, 200, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (St. Thomas Aquinas) Michigan would love to infiltrate St. Thomas Aquinas, and Bonitto could be in play. Bobby Brown, 6-5, 270, Arlington, Texas (Lamar)* Offered in May, Brown is one of the bigger defensive end prospects on U-M's board. Jim Harbaugh likes the idea of recruiting Texas, and Brown is one of the coveted players. Tyler Friday, 6-3, 260, Ramsey, N.J. (Don Bosco Prep) The Wolverines are still in a very good spot with Friday and could end up landing the top player from the Garden State. Aidan Hutchinson, 6-6, 248, Dearborn, Mich. (Divine Child) Hutchinson is as solid as any recruit ever as a Michigan legacy and has physically developed very well over the past year. Micah Parsons, 6-3, 235, Harrisburg, Pa. (Harrisburg) Parsons decommitted from Penn State and mentioned Michigan as a school he liked, but he may be an Ohio State lean. Ronnie Perkins, 6-4, 260, St. Louis (Lutheran North) Perkins is high on Michigan and might have the Wolverines along with LSU, Missouri and Oklahoma, in the upper third of his top 12. Defensive Tackle Verdis Brown, 6-4, 290, Bradenton, Fla. (IMG Academy) Brown is originally from the Chicago area and has maintained a decent level of interest in Michigan since heading down to IMG Academy. Jordan Davis, 6-6, 320, Charlotte. N.C. (Mallard Creek)* The jumbo tackle appears to be highest on the in-state programs despite holding some bigger offers like Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan and Oklahoma. Rick Sandidge, 6-5, 263, Concord, N.C. (Concord) Sandidge is one of Michigan's top overall targets and received a lot of love earlier this spring when he visited with his family. Michael Thompson, 6-4, 273, St. Louis (Parkway North) Thompson is another St. Louis product and gets a lot of attention from the Michigan staff just like friends Kamryn Babb and Ronnie Perkins. Tommy Togiai, 6-3, 293, Pocatello, Idaho (Highland) Michigan rarely recruits Idaho, but is in Togiai's top group along with Utah, Washington, Ohio State, Penn State, TCU, USC and Wisconsin. Linebacker Brian Asamoah, 6-1, 205, Columbus, Ohio (St. Francis DeSales) Asamoah doesn't hold an offer from the hometown Buckeyes, but Penn State is involved and may be considered his leader. Pittsburgh is also making him feel like a priority. Kolin Demens, 6-2, 200, Beverly Hills, Mich. (Country Day) Despite being the younger brother of former Wolverine Kenny Demens, Kolin doesn't seem to be much of a target for the Wolverines. 2018 Scholarship Offer Master List
