pros, a first-round pick
of the Cleveland Browns,
but most of the rest of the 2014 class
— head coach Brady Hoke's last at
U-M — remains. Several appear to be
primed for big years, led by redshirt
junior quarterback Wilton Speight and
senior offensive lineman Mason Cole.
The group will be supplemented by
an eight-man crew of fifth-year scholar-
ship seniors, who will try to match the
leadership and experience provided
by last year's crop of longtime con-
tributors like wideouts Jehu Chesson
and Amara Darboh, defensive lineman
Chris Wormley, and offensive linemen
Kyle Kalis, Erik Magnuson and Ben
Braden. This year 's group of elder
statesmen should each play a sizeable
role in Michigan's 2017 campaign:
FB Khalid Hill: Has developed into
a valuable part of the running game as
a blocker after moving from tight end.
He scored 13 touchdowns (10 rushing
and three receiving) last year, emerg-
ing as the go-to guy at the goal line.
