Penn State hosts nearly two dozen recruits RYAN SNYDER | B L U E WH I T E I L L U s T R A T E d Penn State hosted roughly 25 prospects at Beaver Stadium on Sat- urday for the Nittany Lions' win over Northwestern. While the three biggest names are verbally committed to the Lions – Adam Breneman, Jordan Smith and Tanner Hartman – there were still a handful of prospects that Penn State fans may become familiar with in the near future. Two potential walk-on candidates who were in attendance were athlete Adam Geiger from Camp Hill, Pa., and linebacker Brandon Smith from Lewisburg, Pa. Geiger, who plays both running back and safety, has been to Penn State multiple times during the past two years, while Smith has actu- ally attended every Penn State home game, excluding Ohio, so far this sea- son. As far as potential scholarship players, offensive lineman James McHale from Dunmore, Pa., looks like he could be one of the top line- men in the state for the Class of 2014. Like Smith, the 6-foot-7, 300- pound McHale has been to all but one Penn State home game so far this season. Wisconsin, Ohio State, Nebraska and Pittsburgh have all shown serious interest during the past two months. Another Class of 2014 name to re- member is athlete Christian Lezzer out of Clearfield, Pa. After totaling 1,149 all-purpose yards and 17 touchdowns as a sophomore, the 6- foot-1, 212-pounder has picked up in- terest from the majority of the Mid-Atlantic Division I programs, in- cluding Maryland, Pittsburgh and Rutgers.
