FAN FORUM ready to change my prediction. These wins have been real, but the next four games will tell the real story since it is unlikely that this team can survive without a real offense. Mico Holguin '80 Via the Internet letter about developing a broker sys- tem for tickets (Oct. 8, 2012 edition), I can say first hand that the example given about USC is not what it seems. I am a huge Notre Dame fan raised In response to Mr. Tony Romano's FRONT-RUNNING SEATS than regular stadiums. When USC is not having a great year, Notre Dame fans are spread throughout the Coliseum. As recently as 2010, Notre Dame fans were every- where in that stadium. In fact, I sat on the 25-yard line behind the Notre Dame bench in the USC alumni sec- tion. San Pedro, Calif. in enemy territory (Los Angeles) and have been going to the ND/USC games at the Coliseum since Trojan Michael Harper fumbled his way to a USC victory in 1982. The normal tick- ets available to visiting teams at the Coliseum are in the end zone by the tunnel and the sections beyond the other end zone — much further away referees that made dozens of bad calls and non-calls every game … I was cer- tain the lockout of the real refs would be settled prior to November. That way these clowns will be freed John Paul White Hemet, Calif. About those inept replacement NFL RIGHT ON SCHEDULE Terry Boyle up as usual to work the Notre Dame- Southern Cal game in the Los Angeles Coliseum. FROM THE WEBSITE One of the ways you know Notre Dame is winning big again is when critics start saying "they haven't beaten anybody." At the start of September, five different 2012 Irish opponents were ranked ahead of unranked Notre Dame (Michigan, Michigan State, Stanford, Oklahoma and USC). By the start of October, No. 9 Notre Dame was ahead of all of them. IFR: So, we all hear about Notre Dame's schedule being "not as hard as we thought it would be." Well, do you think Notre Dame had anything to do with that? Every team we've played not named Navy would be in the top 25 right now had they beaten Notre Dame. Had Purdue, Michigan State and Michigan defeated Notre Dame their combined record would be 11-2. used to say, "The schedule wouldn't look so difficult if we were better." Malham: I agree with the original post. But if Purdue, Michigan State and Michigan are good teams, then they will win games this year and crack the top 25 in a few weeks. But they all got beat by Notre Dame and are 8-5. So yeah, all three aren't in the top 25 — but we put them there. We beat them, so our schedule now is just "mediocre." BGIUser1565: The college game has a lot to do with confidence, and winning begets winning. Lou Holtz
