PLAYER OF THE GAMEQuarterback Trace McSorley met little resistance from the Georgia State secondary, con- necting on 18 of his 23 passes for 309 yards. As is often the case, McSorley contributed with his legs as well, carry- ing the ball three times for 24 yards and a score. Overall, he achieved a passer rating of 248.5, the second-highest of his career, and led the Nittany Lions to a dominating victory over the Panthers. BEST RUN On a night when Barkley's playmaking ability was on full display in the passing game, one of his under- studies stole the show on the ground. Miles Sanders took a handoff designed to go up the middle, and when Georgia State clogged that lane, Sanders bounced it outside and took off for a 29-yard touchdown rush to give the Nittany Lions a 28-0 lead with under nine minutes to go in the first half. BEST CATCHThe offensive fireworks didn't end when the first-team unit ex- ited the game. Saeed Blacknall scored Penn State's seventh touchdown of the night when he made an impressive re- ception in the back of the end zone, snagging a pass from Stevens over his left shoulder before falling to the JUDGMENT CALLS S E P T E M B E R 1 7 , 2 0 1 7 B L U E W H I T E O N L I N E . c O M 4 D A V I D E C K E R T | B L U E W H I T E c O N T R I B U T O R The best and the rest from Penn State's victory over the Panthers
