St. Petersburg Bowl. A blocked field
goal in the final seconds of the game
is all that kept the RedHawks from
pulling off the upset.
The driving force behind the Red-
Hawks' late-season surge was the
insertion of then-redshirt sophomore
quarterback Gus Ragland into the
starting lineup. Miami went 6-1 with
Ragland at the throttle, and his 17-
to-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio
was truly special.
Junior quarterback Gus Ragland won his first six career starts, which helped lead the RedHawks to a bowl game in 2016.
