The NHL CARL HAGELIN IS READY FOR A BIG YEAR IN PITTSBURGH Former Michigan standout Carl Hagelin has played in 39 playoff games with the back-to-back Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins the last two seasons, but he's not showing any signs of fatigue. Though he had only notched one assist through the first six games of this season, Hagelin entered the campaign feeling good about his role Rich Hill • MLB Hill, the only remaining U-M alum still playing in the postseason, finished the regular season 12-8 with a 3.32 ERA for the Los Ange- les Dodgers. He allowed only one run on three hits and struck out eight in five innings of a 4-1 win over the Chicago Cubs in game two of the National League Championship Series Oct. 15. Trey Burke • NBA Burke signed with the New York Knicks in October, only to be released after just three days. He played sparingly in Washington last season, averaging 5.0 points and 1.8 assists in 12.3 minutes per game, and is now looking for a team just before the season begins. Jourdan Lewis • NFL The Dallas Cowboys rookie is in the running for 2017 NFL Defen- sive Rookie of the Year per Pro Football Focus, standing sixth overall on the site's list as of Oct. 15. Lewis ranked as the third-best play- maker among all NFL corners through five games, ranking behind only the Eagles' Patrick Robinson and the Bills' Tre'Davious White.
