BKB PREVIEW 12-13 prior to the Hurricanes game, when she shot 31 percent from the floor, and her 25.2 percent accuracy in subsequent ACC games. "By the end of the year, teams were let- ting her shoot," Jon Harper said. "I think Krystal had a hard time adjusting physi- cally and mentally to playing in the confer- ence and strapping it up every night. "She hit the freshman wall, but she's looking a lot more aggressive in practice, she's added some strength, and she's moti- vated to improve." Williams also was hampered by an early- season knee injury that forced her to miss eight of the first 11 games. "That really put her behind, and I'm not sure she ever caught up," Jon Harper said. Added Kellie Harper, "Breezy puts a lot of pressure on herself, and as a result it makes it hard for her to perform. For her to "If we can show up every day and be solid, we're going to win a bunch of games because I don't think there are that many teams that do show up every night." ■ Backcourt coach Jon Harper play at her best, she just has to keep things simple." "She has a lot of God-given talent and can do some special things," Jon Harper pointed out. "She just has to learn to stop beating herself and be consistent." A late addition to the roster is freshman Kaley Moser, who won the 12th spot in a tryout. The 5-11 guard from Burlington's Williams High School was a first-team all- conference and all-region selection as a senior, helping Williams to the state 3A title game last March. Moser will handle the role that Durham and Woodard (now the Pack's graduate as- sistant) filled the past three years, accord- ing to Kellie Harper — a role player who's primary responsibility will be to help the regulars improve in practice and be an op- tion as a backup in games. With experience and depth in more abundant supply than in the last three years — and with an exciting option in the middle to take pressure off the need to constantly look for outside shots — the coaches believe NC State's outside game will, like the team as a whole, perform with the steadiness needed to make that return visit to the Big Dance in March a reality. ■ Your Home, Your Perfect Kitchen Whether you're interested in building an astounding five-star kitchen or l ooking for ways to stretch your budget, our talented design team can help you pull it all together.
