"Everybody is real excited to see what the team is going to do this year. Everybody in there was anxious to see what this team will be like. I know they are ready to go." The 16.5-minute scrimmage helped get Pinson's full attention. "They ran a lot, and I like doing that," Pinson said. "They ran the whole scrim- mage, got up and down the floor and kicked the ball ahead. They seem to have a whole lot of freedom." Pinson played with and against Barber in numerous Nike events, and also played with Washington. He knows the Martin twins by reputation, but hasn't seen them much outside of the Dave Telep Carolina Challenge each March. "I want to play with good players when I get to college," Pinson said. "My goal is to get to the national championship game and win. That adds extra power to NC State, knowing the Martin twins will be there." Pinson likes to play up-tempo, and he knows how fast Barber is end to end. "I played with Barber at the LeBron James Skills Academy and Nike Global Challenge [last July], and that is one of the fastest dudes I have ever seen with the ball in his hands," Pinson said. "Knowing that he's going there and the way they get up and down the floor, it could be trouble." Pinson ended up missing head coach Mark Gottfried zip lining down to the court, but heard about it from his family. His par- ents, a former grade school coach, and Wesleyan teammates JaQuel Richmond, a junior point guard, and Harry Giles, a freshman forward, were in attendance.
