NLI Signing of the recruiting pro- cess takes place when a prospect signs the National Letter of In- tent (NLI) with their chosen institution. By signing the NLI the prospect becomes of- ficially committed to the institution they sign with. During the early signing pe- riod in November, all sports except foot- ball, soccer and track/cross country are allowed to sign prospects to NLIs.
