into the end zone for a 1-yard touchdown on a play that Penn State seemed to have per- fectly defended. It was that kind of night for the Nittany Lions – an anticlimactic night that
followed a week of big-game hype of the sort that the nation's college football pundits never saw coming after Penn State's nightmarish off-season. The Lions fell to Ohio State, 35-23, thanks
mostly to Miller, who finished with 134 rush- ing yards. "With a guy like that, you have to get him to the ground. You have to make sure he's on the ground," defensive end Deion Barnes said. "He'll find his way through [a gap of] about two inches."

BAD NEWS The Lions were overpowered on both sides of the line of scrimmage, surrendering 234 rushing yards while managing only 32 yards themselves.
THE TAKEAWAY Penn State wasn't ready for prime time, but it showed resilience in bouncing back from consecutive losses to open the season and will have a chance to do so again this com- ing week at Purdue.
