Entering the showdown in Norman, Okla., Notre Dame had an overall record of 50-34-5 (.590) in such contests — 22-11-1 (.662) at home, 15-14-2 (.516) on the road and 13-9-2 (.583) on neutral fields. 90 796 Games since 1936 — the year the AP poll began — that Notre Dame has played in which it and the opponent contest. That was the most by the Irish over a three-game span since 2003 when they amassed 804 yards on the ground versus Navy, BYU and Stanford. Julius Jones totaled 600 of those yards (74.6 percent).
