PLAYER OF THE GAMEPenn State quarterback Trace McSorley was effi- cient in the air and effective on the ground against the Terrapins, complet- ing 22 of 33 passes for 237 yards while adding 36 yards and another score on the ground. His performance helped pace the Nittany Lions to a 45-0 lead by the time his day was done with 5 min- utes, 46 seconds left in the third quar- ter. PLAY OF THE GAMEBracketed by Tommy Stevens and Miles Sanders in the backfield, McSorley took a shotgun snap at the 21-yard line and handed the ball to Stevens. Running a fake reverse on the play, Stevens found an edge and never gave up the ball to a streaking Saquon Barkley, bursting past a helpless Terrapin defense and into the end zone to give the Nittany Lions an early 7-0 lead. The beginning of what would turn out to be a thorough undressing of the Terrapins, the play was merely an appe- tizer to a full Thanksgiving feast for Penn State fans. The perfectly tossed pass and completion set up yet another Penn State score in a 17-point second quarter. BEST RUNWith his team trailing 28-0 and their hopes of a comeback flicker- ing midway through the second quarter, Maryland running back Ty Johnson rode his offensive line into open space. The carry was good for 45 yards and moved Maryland back into Penn State's side of the field. BEST CATCHRolling left with his quarterback, tight end Mike Gesicki ap- peared to be running out of real estate in the back corner of the end zone. Ex- tending his right hand, catching the ball, and bringing it to his chest, all be- fore rolling out of bounds, Gesicki com- pleted the impossible reception for a touchdown. The play gave Penn State a 28-0 lead with 11:33 left to play before the end of the first half. WORST DROPMaryland had a few of them Saturday afternoon. The worst came in the third quarter when kickoff return man Antwaine Richardson put the ball on the turf at his own 18-yard line. The fumble gave the Nittany Lions an easy opportunity to tack on another JUDGMENT CALLS N O V E M B E R 2 5 , 2 0 1 7 B L U E W H I T E O N L I N E . c O M 4 N A T E   B A U E R | N B A U E R @ B L U E W H I T E O N L I N E . c O M The best and the rest from Penn State's victory over the Terrapins
