Adams was 13th in the nation with 1,386 yards and seventh with an average of 7.3 yards per carry. According to Pro Football Focus, Adams led the nation with 5.2 yards after contact. In fact, Adams was credited by PFF with a season total of 994 yards after contact. From 2004-16, Notre Dame had just two games with at least 300 rushing yards.
